Baron in the Ancient Greek Writing Instruction chapter argues that it is important to note how language communication has evolved into how it is perceived and used today. I agree with this point because I found it interesting that many Greek philosophers believed written communication would diminish one's brain power as opposed to memorizing arguments and presenting them orally. However, when other people such as Aristotle and Isocrates started to realize that writing allowed people to keep a permanent. trustworthy record of information and introduced the ideas of rhetoric, writing became more dominant than oral communication. Also with new inventions such as the printing press, typewriter, and computers replacing handwritten works, this sort of took away the individuality of the writing and placed more focus on impacting a bigger audience.
