For the podcast assignment, I am interested in doing either an interview or an advertisement. I am leaning more towards an interview because I have never conducted one before so it would be exciting to be on the other side of the chair giving the questions rather than answering them. When I think about interviews I think about evaluation ones conducting by companies when they screen job applicants or college interviews. Those google coding interviews come to mind where they evaluate the applicant's knowledge of computer science and using problem solving skills to find the most efficient solution to a problem. Or my own college interview where I was asked about my activities and academics. But in the political world, interviews are a way for journalists to gain information from the perspective of the person he is interviewing. I think of people like Fareed Zakaria interviewing important political figures to facilitate discussion on issues that are controversial. In my project, I hope to interview someone who is knowledgeable about maybe optimization of processes as I am interested in operations research concepts and how they can be used in the industry to improve processes. Other interview ideas include interviewing other faculty about Georgia Tech problems such as stress management, academics, and possibly how they feel about the food that is being served in the dining halls as these are issues that are very polarized depending on the people you ask.
